The subcompact SUV class is getting a fresh contender for 2027, and Ontario shoppers have good reason to take a closer look. The completely redesigned 2027 Kia Seltos starts at $28,495 MSRP and brings more cabin space, more cargo room, and more screen space than the generation it replaces.

Kia first introduced the Seltos in 2020, and it quickly grew into one of the brand’s top sellers across Canada. This second-generation model builds on that foundation with standard technology, updated safety features, and three powertrain choices. Here is what Ontario buyers should know before this redesigned SUV reaches dealerships.

A Starting Price That Anchors the Lineup

Kia has confirmed Canadian pricing for the 2027 Seltos, and it opens at $28,495 for the LX FWD 2.0L. Stepping up to all-wheel drive on the same engine brings the LX AWD 2.0L to $30,495. At the top of the gas range, the X-Line AWD 1.6L Turbo-GDI lands at $39,295.

More Room for People and Gear

The larger exterior dimensions give the 2027 Seltos a roomier cabin. A longer wheelbase and greater overall length bring a 25 mm increase in rear legroom, and overall headroom also grows by 25 mm.

Cargo space sees a real bump too. There is an estimated 1,817 L behind the first row and an estimated 786 L behind the second row. A two-step foldable luggage board adds storage flexibility on select models.

Nearly 30 Inches of Screen Space

The digital dash is one of the headline upgrades. The Seltos includes a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen on every trim, and adds an available 12.3-inch instrument cluster display plus an available 5-inch climate control panel. Together, that adds up to nearly 30 inches of total digital screen space.

Kia’s ccNC infotainment system supports Over-the-Air updates through Kia Connect. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all trims. Four standard USB-C ports span both rows, with the rear charging ports integrated into the first-row seatbacks for easy access.

Three Powertrains to Choose From

The 2027 Seltos offers three powertrain options. The lineup starts with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). For buyers who want livelier pickup, the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine develops 190 hp and routes power through an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual control, exclusive to the X-Line trims.

Rounding out the choices is a hybrid powertrain, a first for the Seltos. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The front-wheel-drive HEV focuses on efficiency, while available e-AWD, a Kia first on a hybrid SUV, adds on-demand all-wheel-drive capability.

Standard and Available Safety Technology

The Seltos brings a wide roster of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Standard features new to the Seltos include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning and Front and Reverse Parking Distance Warning. Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist also comes standard.

Available upgrades add a 3D Surround-View Monitor and Kia’s Blind-Spot View Monitor, which shows a video feed of the left or right blind spot on the digital display when the turn signal is activated.

Trim Details Worth Knowing

The lineup spans five trims: LX, EX, EX Premium, X-Line and X-Line Limited. The LX rides on 16-inch wheels with cloth seats, while the EX and EX Premium move up to 18-inch wheels. The X-Line and X-Line Limited use 19-inch wheels, and the X-Line adds an exclusive monotone black interior with SynTex upholstery and mesh headrests. The X-Line Limited steps up to front Relaxation Seats.
